The previous related post on Getting To Know Your Market, we had you brainstorm niche and market ideas for your business.  In doing so, you should have a minimum of 30-50 related “buying” keywords.  Ideally, here is the criteria for your keywords

• 2-3 word phrase (possibly 4 or 5)  Keep to approximately 20 characters in length for the keyword term
• Easy to incorporate into a sentence
• Must be based on a product or service people are already buying
• Must have less than 100,000 page indexed by Google (in quotes)
• Minimum Daily search count = 10 (Wordtracker tool)
• Estimated cost per click > $1.00

Sort and rate your top keyword phrase – least amount of competition with the hightest amount of daily search volumn.  You about to start a serious home based business using this keyword phrase as your domain name! 

You will use the remaining keyword phrases in with small marketing business ideas.  Mainly, 3-4 will be used along with your main keyword on your home page content.  The remaining will be sprinkled through content on your website and supporting traffic generating sites.

You can add more keyword phrases as you go.  Ideally, you want to get 10-20 pages to your site or posts on your blog as quickly as possible. (Depending on your competition level, you may get by with less).

This is where things get interesting, by adding additional keyword value content through out various places on the net.  How your keyword phrases will be used to drive traffic:

• To tag and describe videos
• Article marketing
• Forums
• Comments on other blogs
• Social networking sites
• Bookmarking sites
• Press releases
• etc…..

ACTION STEP: Pick your niche or market, assemble your list of keyword phrases.  Select one for your domain name (.com if possible or net, org, us, biz)  Try to get the exact keyword phrase as your domain.  If you need to add a word, place it at the end of your keyword phrase.
